Group Scent Classes (THIS IS A 4 WEEK COURSE) This is a continuation course for those who have completed an introduction to passive scent work. If you have completed your introduction with someone else then please contact us before booking to ensure this is the right course for you. Passive searches are when we ask our dogs to search for a target odour and 'indicate' when and where they have found it, the dog does not interact with the target odour. Sniffing, searching and finding is naturally highly rewarding for dogs. Nervous dogs increase in confidence, and anxious or overly excited dogs become calm and focused. Dogs who are normally highly distracted by the environment learn to search with no loss of attention and dogs often fall into a deep state of relaxation afterwards. You and your dog will work together as a team to supercharge your bond and connection. Plus – it’s just plain fun and dogs love it! Learn in a highly supportive class environment, then take your new skills home with you for everyday fun, focus and calm! YOU’LL GET; 4 x 45 minute classes with a small group of dogs under the expert guidance of a scentwork instructor. This course will expand your dogs scent knowledge and introduce some fun real life situations where your dog can carry out their searches. Think searching heights, human searches... searching luggage and maybe even a vehicle search! You will also be able to ask your instructor questions any time or ask for feedback or advice in between sessions. PLUS! Upon completion of the course you will receive a rosette and have the option to continue your scentwork journey with one of our follow up courses or workshops!
